Tokyo, Japan
I love shoes.... Its my weakness.... I didn't realize how how much I loved my shoes until Yuki-chan started chewing on my shoes. She loves shoes too and has expensive taste. She does not chew on "cheap" shoes and my running shoes... She loves designer shoes...
The day before I left for Korea for my Golden Week vacation, I brought 4 pairs of shoes that Yuki-chan damaged to Mister Mint, a fabulous shoe repair shop in my favorite department store Takashimaya. They gave me an estimate for the repair ---- 35000 yen!! But considering 2 of them were Donald Pliners, 1 was a vintage Charles Jourdan and the other was a Christian Louboutin, I guess its a good price. And they told me it will take over a month to get it fixed! So off to Korea I went, so sad about my shoes but then realized it was a good excuse to buy a good pair of shoes in Korea.
See in Japan, its very hard for me to buy shoes. I wear a size 8 or 8.5 US which is like a 25 shoe size in Japan which is HUGE for the Japanese so I can't get any cute shoes unless I buy European or US designer shoes. I have the same problem in Korea but because the exchange rate is favorable I knew I could get a good deal on designer shoes.
I really wanted to get some cute and comfortable flats so off I was to the Tod's duty free store in Lotte department store in Seoul. BUT, they did not have many shoes with my size because they were catering to Japanese clients!! I really wanted these silver ballet slippers. They were gorgeous and are called Ballerina Dee shoes. But the sales lady from Tod's was so NICE and called around the other Lotte Duty Free Stores and found a pair in my size!! She said it will be delivered the next day. Made me very very HAPPY! And I got it for aboout 275$, alot less than the 400$ or so if you get it from Neiman Marcus.
