Selcuk and Istanbul, Turkey
Sunny and Delicious!
Since we got all of our "tourist" activities done yesterday, today was spent for shopping in the AM and then flying to Istanbul.
Jet lag is still a problem where I woke up at 430am, early enough to hear the morning prayer calls that start at 5am. Anyhoo, went up to the terrace to work a bit, then had breakfast with the girls.
My first shopping stop was the rug store at "main street". Sandra was looking for a rug and while waiting, saw a beautiful silk prayer rug that I must have. So after negotiating, I bought it! Can't wait to place it on my coffee table.
So that was the beginning of a major shopping spree. Next stop was back to the hotel to look at more ceramics. So I had to get a plate in additon to the fish trivet I bought yesterdy. So exciting! And lastly, I bought the most beautiful silk cushion covers.
After the morning of power shopping with the girls, it was time to go to the airport to catch our flight to Istanbul. We had a fabulous time in Selcuk and found everyone we met to be kind and fun to be with. Would luv to go back, but I know it most likely won't happen. But I'm still pinching myself about walking thru the ruins of Ephesus.
My first impressions of Istanbul
Courtyard of the Four Seasons Old Town - no we did not stay here
The famous Blue Mosque... can't wait to visit it.
