Malibu, CA
Foggy and Cool
J'adore Paris.......even when I feel like shit, it's hot and exhausted. I was feeling pretty run down during the last day of the IBC conference in Amsterdam due to all the stuff one's got to deal with during conferences and not sleeping well. So when I woke up on the day we were to leave for Paris, I was feeling VERY lousy with chills, sinus headache, sore throat, etc. Anyhow, made it to the train station, got on the train and passed out for half the ride.
Arrived at Gare du Nord, took a cab to our cheap, clean hotel in Marais, well really Bastille area. We couldn't check in so we left our bags and decided to take a walk around Paris. First stop, the corner drug store. France is the best place to get drugs when you are sick. They are super strong and also very cheap. So in my broken French, explained to the pharmacist my problem and he gave me this powder that is to be mixed with water and downed. I'm supposed to use it only twice a day but that night I felt so bad that I took two packets before crashing to bed around 8pm.
So armed with drugs, we walked towards the Seine, Ile St Louis, Tuileries and ended at Rue de Royale. We ended up walking the whole afternoon. It probably was not the best thing to do for my health but the weather was beautiful and since its been about 10 years since I've been to Paris, I really wanted to walk the beautiful city. It was Linda's first time in Paris so I'm sure it was a bit overwhelming. In hindsight, I should have put her on a bus tour so she gets to see all the highlights of Paris in 3-4 hours given our stay in the city is very short (3 full days).
Anyhow, here are some photos I took of the beautiful city.

Still my favorite square in Paris - Places des Vosges. Fond memories here. Having the best meal I've ever had w/Kim, Mom and Dad at Michelin 3 star restaurant - L'Ambrosie
A hidden "hotel" @ Place des Vosges
A mole at Place des Vosges
speaking of Parisian street art, did you get to see any of the Pac-man mosaics around town? There were a few near Notre Dame going into the Latin Quarter and more around Sacre Coeure.
Love your photos! Brings back great memories.
