Malibu, California
Beautiful day with 7-10ft waves
When I lived in Manhattan, I never went to the street fairs. Usually, I avoided them as I found the crowds unbearable. But now when I visit Manhattan, I play tourist. And as my hotel was 2 blocks from 9th avenue, I decided to check out the International Food Fair. Lucky me, to choose the weekend where the street fair was happening. It took forever to get to my hotel from Nicky's because of the fair, but once I checked in, walked the 2 blocks to the fair. The food festival is sponsored by the 9th avenue association and has been a yearly event since 1973. Ninth Avenue is known for its numerous ethnic restaurants that are reasonably priced. I used to dine there frequently especially when money was tight. As I had a dinner appt and had a very good brunch, I did my "bestest" to not try the yummy looking food. So instead took pictures. Alot of pictures. And here's a subset (but still alot).
This is Hallo Berlin's stand. The owner got his start with a pushcart. His sausages were a big hit that there were lines that went around the block for his food. He now has a restaurant and is still going strong.
Ok, so gave in and had to have Hallo Berlin's pierogis.
Thai dumplings. It was interesting to see her make them
And because it's NY, there has to be an Irish bar
