Malibu, California
Summer came for a few days and then Left
Heat Wave! Yes, summer decided to arrive last Monday. But what came with the sun was Mercury in Retrograde and a Full Moon. Strange things happen when Mercury is in retrograde. Things just don't go right. To learn more about mercury, read this article from my favorite astrologer Susan Miller: Mercury.
So what happened to me?
- Monday, my computer caught a virus and it took 1.5 days to get fixed.
- My new printer stopped working in wireless mode. I was ready to throw it out the window, but managed to fix it by re-installing the software
- My Blu Ray DVD player stopped connecting to the Internet and had to reboot several times so that I could see some Netflix on Demand movies
- My iphone started skipping songs and just yesterday miraculously fixed itself
- And on Wednesday while on a conference call and eating cherries, I accidentally bit on the pit and cracked a tooth. The same tooth I cracked in Japan while cracking walnuts with my teeth. This time the dentists could not save it so I had to get it pulled! Ouch!
- Mexicana Airlines goes bankrupt so my flights to Oaxaca for my vacation in Oct/Nov are canceled and the alternative flights are VERY expensive
- And because of the full moon and with mercury in retrograde, had insomnia for 2 DAYS. By the time Friday came, I think I had 6 hours of sleep total in 2 days. And the coyotes were howling throughout the night.
Well, I'm hoping things will calm down a bit but Mercury is in retrograde until September 12 which means I need to be careful as I'm traveling to Amsterdam and will also be managing some demonstrations at a major conference. Sigh...
BUT, the sun arrived and this week was the first time this year where I could walk the beach without a fleece and in bare feet. And oh, the skies were so beautiful. Take a look.
Sunrise @ Malibu Bluffs Park: It was an awesome feeling to finally see the sun rise. We've had very dense fog in the mornings all summer that kept the temperatures in the AM to the low 50s. This week the temps were in the mid 60s in the AM and mid 70s in the PM in Malibu
Zuma Beach
Zuma Beach: Don't step on her!
Sunset at Zuma Beach: The sunset was glorious because of the clear skies
Moon rising over Zuma Beach: But the skies did not go dark because of the Full Moon
Which provided a colorful and majestic sky
And today Saturday is when Summer decided to leave us again. We are back to an unusually cool summer where the high's are in the mid 60s. I'm back to wearing my fleece.
I don't know much how the planet Mercury affected the strange occurrences to you that time, but what I really know is walnuts can crack teeth. Cherries? Well, Mercury thus played a trick on you! After all, he isn't the god of mischief for nothing!
