Las Vegas, Nevada
Sunny, warm and dry
It is that time of the year again, where I spend about a week in Las Vegas to participate in NAB - National Association of Broadasters convention. Participating in my company's booth is exciting and even more exciting is to see all my colleagues and friends from around the world. What I do not like is Las Vegas. I am not a gambler and just cannot appreciate the "fakeness" of the the whole city. I wish I had time to go outside Vegas as there are some spectacular desert scenery outside the town.
At least my hotel room is nice albeit everything is so expensive! There is no "free" coffee in the room and no reasonably priced restaurant nearby except for the food court in the fashion mall across the street. Internet access is not free and they charge for everything, including accepting Fedex pkgs, using the refrigerator, etc. We are staying at the Encore, a Wynn hotel. Like all fancy hotels in Vegas it is over the top. But at least my room is quiet and it is walking distance to the convention center.
The convention starts on Monday, I have almost everything done have caught up with many of my colleagues. I'm so looking forward to seeing them but ugh, can't wait to get out of this town!

Except for the Four Seasons Hotel, all the hotels in Vegas require you walk through the casino to go anywhere. It is not a pleasant experience for me. Music is blasting and all the casinos have this odor similar to a car air freshener.
The Encore is connected to the Wynn and both hotels only have expensive stores and restaurants.
The lobby at the Wynn, lots of fake stuff.
The bar scene at 10am at the Wynn

Wow! Suite rooms never fail to give satisfying stay to tourist, right? The room is very neat and organized that is so great to have a moment of your own! It is very uplifting as well.

Your bathroom is huge! The night time view from your hotel room is just so gorgeous. I wouldn't mind gazing at that window for a long time.
