Malibu, California
Rain and yucky
Finished work at 4pm today because I started work very early and the brain is dead. Today was supposed to be running day which would have helped but the rain squashed those plans. Even Skipper, Yuki and Professor are pretty sluggish and sleepy today. So all I want to do now is have that fabulous vanilla latte from Funnel Mill Coffee and Tea and just watch TV. But Funnel Mill is located in Santa Monica so instead I'll have a glass of wine or 2, maybe 3...
I discovered Funnel Mill through a friend's friend. I needed a place to discuss some business with my friend Brian in the West side and she suggested Funnel Mill Coffee and Tea. It's located in a weird area in Santa Monica but wow, the vanilla latte was the best I've ever had. It was made from real soy milk (that is milk just made from soy) and flavored with real vanilla beans. So it is not sweet. But comes with vanilla sugar on the side. Brian had a cup of coffee they recommended. The coffee beans are ground to order and the coffee is made in this fancy coffee maker. The selection of coffees and teas are so vast that without the helpful owner, one can spend at least 30 minutes trying to figure out what one wants. I definitely want to go back there for more of the vanilla latte and also try their tea selection. They also specialize in Chinese tea and can serve it with traditional Chinese tea fashion. And if you really want to try a rare coffee, they have Kopi Luwak which could set you back $$$ but only place I know that has it. Great find in Santa Monica. Wish there was one in Malibu right now....

Free wi-fi in a very quiet Zen like setting. Great place to relax and think.
